Cultivating Self Esteem in Our Kids: Recipes to Combat Low Self-Esteem

Welcome to the latest episode of Being a Parent is Hard! In “Cultivating Self-Esteem in Our Kids: Recipes to Combat Low Self-Esteem", we focus on why self-esteem is at the core of our emotional universe and some of the difficulties we see when kids struggle with low self-esteem. We offer strategies and insights as to what truly cultivates self-esteem in children and teens and what simply allays a parent’s concern about enhancing their child’s self-image. For example, focusing on attractiveness, thinness, and performance are rarely direct routes to helping a child build a stronger, more secure and positive sense of themselves. Please join us for a deep dive into the topic of self-esteem and how we as parents, teachers, coaches, and members of a community can influence a child’s self-esteem.
